Overview

"Kaleido Star" is the story of 16 year-old Sora Naegino, a girl aspiring to perform on the world-renowned Kaleido Stage. She travels to the USA for an audition, despite her parents' worries and encounters several perils upon arrival: the police who think she's a runaway from home take her in. When the situation clears up, a friendly but tough policeman drives her to the Kaleido Stage.

Unfortunately, the auditions are closed and Layla Hamilton, the star of Kaleido Stage, opposes to her joining the group. Sora tries to save an acrobat from a falling object but gets her injured instead. Kalos Eido, the owner of Kaleido Stage, decides to let her replace the acrobat in the next show but Sora doesn't do too well and Layla's critics determine her to leave the Kaleido Stage. On her way out, Sora is called back by Ken Robbins, a crew member who tells her she has been accepted at the Kaleido Stage.

So begins the adventure of a lifetime for Sora, who works her way to become the true Kaleido Star, as predicted by Fool, the Spirit of the Stage. She must overcome a lot of obstacles in order to gain the respect and appreciation of those around her while training intensely and working hard.
